04

Community Funded Programs

Our Community Funded programs provide a range of services, including helping children learn to swim, assisting individuals with completing income tax returns, and providing Christmas hampers to those in need. Other programs may be available, dependent upon funding.

05

Mazinaw Lake Swim Program

The program was started by mothers in our community after the tragic drowning of two local siblings. These mothers aimed to create a program that would teach children in the community how to swim, ensuring that such a tragedy would never happen again. This initiative is dedicated to those two children.

Good Food Boxes

https://www.goodfoodboxkingston.com/
The Good Food Box Program provides a box of fresh, healthy vegetables and fruit toSmall Good Food Box community members each month at a low cost. Large boxes include 5lbs potatoes and other seasonal produce for $17. Small boxes cost $11 and contain most of the same produce, but with fewer potatoes. There are also small fruit and small veg bags for $6. 80% of their clients are not in great need, but this does offer a nutritious option for everyone. Customers have to prepay when ordering.

Good Food Boxes receives donations from Walmart, among others, and in the summer, much of the produce comes from the Community Garden they run. Currently, they deliver to Cloyne once a month, but if there is interest, they could certainly also deliver to Flinton and/or Northbrook. Orders are placed on the second Thursday of the month, and deliveries are made the following week.

Delivery is to the Health Center in Cloyne. The Food Bank purchases some of these boxes to include in its offerings.
